Samsung's 5.5-inch Galaxy S6 Plus rumored to be coming soon

Samsung Galaxy S6 phone buyers waiting for a version with a 5.5-inch screen might get their wish fairly soon.

The Korean mobile phone maker is reportedly planning to unveil the Galaxy S6 Plus, a variant of the Galaxy S6 with a bigger screen and other enhancements, according to Italian blog site HDBlog.it. Known internally at Samsung as Project Zero 2, formerly Project Zen, the new phone would make its debut in the coming weeks rather than at the Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin (IFA) 2015 conference in September, as was previously rumored.
In April 2014, Samsung released the Galaxy S5, then followed it up later that year in October with the Galaxy S5 Plus, which featured a more potent processor. Rumors have suggested that Samsung would adopt a similar strategy this year in an effort to capitalize on the success of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. But the new phone would be bigger than its siblings in an attempt to lure in users looking for a larger-screened device. The S6 Plus would also serve as an early alternative to the Galaxy Note 5 phablet, which is still expected to be unveiled at the IFA conference in September.  Read morehttp://www.cnet.com/news/samsungs-5-5-inch-galaxy-s6-plus-rumored-to-be-coming-soon/

Windows 10 will be available July 29, Microsoft confirms

Windows 10 finally has an official release date — July 29, 2015 — and development is nearing its end, although the latest Insider Preview Build 10122 clearly still needs some work. Let’s take a step back for a moment and address one of the most confusing things about the next version of Windows. When Microsoft announced its newest operating system last year, the surprise was not that it was coming, but that Windows would be skipping 9 and heading straight to 10. When asked about Windows 10’s name, Microsoft never gave a clear answer. So why, exactly, is Windows 10 getting the nod instead of 9?  Read more: http://www.extremetech.com/computing/191279-why-is-it-called-windows-10-not-windows-9

Apple Watch's performance as a fitness device.

I was supposed to review the Apple Watch. That was the plan, but then, when Engadget had its first chance to test the device, I was on vacation. Specifically, I was in France, where I ran the Paris Marathon, my sixth 26.2-mile race in five years. As it happens, our Editor-in-Chief Michael wrote a fair, thorough review on his own, and he cut a fine figure in that stop-motion walk-through video, too. If there's one thing he didn't go into detail on, though, it was the Apple Watch's performance as a fitness device. Some background there: Michael is one of those naturally skinny people with a stupidly fast metabolism who doesn't need to work out to stay trim. Which is a good thing, because he hates working out. That's why, when I finally had the chance to try out the Apple Watch myself (a $649 stainless steel model), I chose to focus on its abilities as a fitness gadget -- a fitting decision, considering my running habit was what kept me from reviewing the watch in the first place....Read more: http://www.engadget.com/2015/06/02/the-apple-watch-as-a-fitness-device/
